Think I better update this... so one day, I can read back to this blog and know when she started walking like an adult/toddler.
Keira started walking from 9-10 months. By now, she is walking like a toddler/kid without any support. She can walk/cruise around the house like no ones business and she is very stable with her walk. There is no need for us to really "watch her" and "catch her" while she is walking anymore... cheers... ;-)!
I supposed this is quite a great milestone for Keira to be able to get to this stage at/before 1-year. Cool.. that's what my mum told me. Cheers....

Keira's 1st Mid-Autumn Festival
It's Mid-Autumn festival!
Hmm... I think it's been more than 15 years since I last (really) celebrated this festival. This year, we have Keira so there is A reason to do something to show her, and let her have some fun.
2 weeks ago, I chanced upon a TV commercial promoting this festive celebration. Coincidentally, my eld bro had some subsidized tickets to Chinese Garden for Mid-Autumn Festival. So we booked the tickets and went to Chinese Garden with eld bro, SIL and Karin....
It was SUPER crowded!!! I never expected such a turnout! We could hardly walk, not to mention "enjoy" the lightings and settings.... Nonetheless, I bought an electronic wand for Keira and bro bought both Karin and Keira a "devil-headband".
Here's our little "devil" for you....haha...

Keira is One Year Old!
It's been 2 weeks since I last updated our blog. Well, it's never too late... here's the updates for you, my friends!
Keira turned 1 year old on 13 Sept, but we celebrated her birthday couple of days earlier to coincide with a weekend - 8 Sept. We invited immediate family members and close friends to join us in our previous' moment. Unfortunately... should I say unfortunate??? Well, it seems that I've always got something interesting to tell you all....So what was it this time?
Hmm, Keira woke up on 8 Sept morning with a fever!!! DUH! why??? Of all days, today when we were supposed to celebrate Keira's 1st birthday? Gosh... unfortunate? I think so... coz I dun think she enjoyed the day as we hoped for her to. Anyway... I have some pictures taken to show all my friends....
First of all, our attempts to set up the function room for the celebration. Frankly, I have under-estimated the energy needed to set it up! I thought it was easy..no brainer, simple and fast, no frills... Blarrrr... I was wrong! Pumping those balloons, tieing them and fixing up to create a "theme" is such a hassle....I actually felt sorry to have that feeling! gosh! So... here are some pics to show you...parts of the function room set up. Great efforts from Hb, my eld bro, my dad, Karin, SIL and I....

The next key item was the Cake! We booked the cake some 2-3 weeks in advanced. It was also a tough decision - maybe just me... I wanted Elmo-2D/3D cake in 2 kg but just couldn't find a nice one. Finally, hb settled for a No. 1-shaped cake with Sesame Street characters. Hmm.. it turned out pretty nice, and the kids at the party were thrilled with the cake! haha... so was I! The cake tasted great too! Till today, I was still mesmerized by it! Think I should order from this bakery on my next xx birthday ;p

Here's Karin, Keira and Valerie... the other kids looked on with same level of excitment, haha.

Finally, Keira and I :-). Poor gal, she had the fever thoughout the party. Party ended at 3pm, by the time we got home, it was almost 5pm.
And... we thought, and we were told... Keira had fever due to teething.... coz she had no cough, no running nose etc etc....Well, by the time we got home, her fever rose to 38.8 degrees, we brought her to KK hospital, it's just too high. By the time we reached KK, her temperature registered at 39.6! That warranted for emergency case, and we stayed for 1 hr with Dr's instruction to monitor her. Thank goodness, her fever dropped and we went home....
For the rest of the days, Keira was recuperating....

Recipe: Udon Soup
I got inspired to cook Udon Soup for Keira after our Cruise trip. On the last day, we had Japanese for lunch and my bro ordered Udon for Karin (my niece). Then, I thought.. hmm.. let Keira try a bit of the udon. She loves it!
So, my adventure began on Saturday.....
Here’s the recipe for Udon Soup
(Makes 1 – 2 servings, depending on infant’s age)
Ingredients:
· 4-5 udon, boiled and diced
· ½ small carrot, peeled and diced
· 4 - 5 Spinach leaves, washed and chopped
· 200ml water
Method:
1. Wash Udon and boil
2. Place carrot and spinach in a small pot or slow cooker to boil and simmer until carrot is soft
3. Place Udon in and cook for another 10 minutes until boil
5. Serve on bowl

Keira's attempt at swimming after mummy's slipped-incident
(mummy is super busy at work, having to start work right after putting Keira to bed every nite!. Nonetheless, making an effort to update the blog before I call it a nite)
So, if you read about Keira's unfortunate incident on Superstar Virgo swimming session (http://lonebabe.blogspot.com/2007/08/cruising-with-keira.html), here's a sequel to the story...
On Sunday (26/8), we had nothing to do at home and weather looks pretty alright so I suggested bring Keira for a swim. Ofcoz I did thought if Keira's gotten over with the cruise slipping incident... but I don't think I should avoid it just because she had a scare once. Anyway, it had been 4-5 days, and she should have "forgotten" about the incident. Plus, she IS my daughter and she is as strong as I am to challenge the waters again.
Well, Keira was indeed scared of the water when we brought her to the kids pool. For a while, she struggled not to get into the water. After some coaxing and distraction, she got into the pool. We started distracting her with floats and playing with her that she soon forgotten she was once scared of waters... haha... Good Gal!

Edelweiss
Keira loves music/songs, but not the mozart effects of that sorts! I think she doesn't enjoy mozart effects. She loves pop music, she seems to like 五月天 and F.I.R songs lot. Maybe she was influenced by me, I play these types of music while driving everyday ever since I was preggie with her. One particular F.I.R song that Keira will definitely hum along is 天天夜夜. I sing while driving everyday..loudly...and she'll hum louder than me! haha..
Lately, I tried singing Edelweiss to Keira during naptime and bedtime. She seems to love it too. Hmm...maybe it's my singing that she enjoys, and not particularly on any songs?????? I just recalled during my cruise trip with Keira couple of days ago, I sang Edelweiss while patting her to bed. I stopped singing and she turned to look at me, I continued singing and she went back to slumberland.
Anyway, I had problem trying to remember the lyrics for Edelweiss, and for the past weeks, my lyrics goes like this:
Edelweiss, edelweiss,
every morning you greet me.
Small and white, big and bright,
la, la, lalala, la...lala,
la, lalala, lalalala, lala,
lalala....lala, la
Edelweiss, edelweiss,
every morning you greet me
(anyone fainted already?)
Ok, now that I am still up and awake, I just browsed through www and found the lyrics!!!
Edelweiss, edelweiss,
every morning you greet me.
Small and white, clean and bright,
you look happy to meet me.
Blossom of snow, may you bloom and grow,
bloom and grow forever.
Edelweiss, edelweiss,
bless my homeland forever.
----
Psst, I need to practice more kiddy songs. Maybe its time for me to learn from my niece! haha... I was "refreshed" with Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars after hearing Karin sang it... haha...
