I have not been able to update my blog lately.. please pardon me, my dear frenz!
Not to mention, not having the time to take pics of Keira too! Seriously, I have not taken any pics of her.... for couple of weeks already.
We'll be going to HK next week...it will be Keira's 1st time on plane. She had her taste of cruising.. and now.. flying! yahoo!
Yahoo??? Jeez... I don't know how she will be able to handle the 3.5 hours on the plane! I just hope she will not scream at top of her voice on the plane! Keeping my fingers crossed that she will be obedient and at her best.. but... I know I am asking too much, and perhaps... asking the impossible! K is such a terror in action!!!!! Gosh....!
Anyway... I'll provide updates when we are back.. and this time, with photos!

I can't sleep....
Too many things bugging me, my mind. So.. let's blog about Keira!
Hmm... my blogging frequency seems to have dropped drastically over the past few months. Why? Nevermind... it doesn't matter to you, my dear audience/frens here. As long as I continue to update about lil terror the keira... it should not matter, right?
Ok.. enough said, let's getting into this biz..
Lately, I began to feel a change in Keira. What change? hmm... I can't really pin down a specific change... but then again.. it seems to make me feel that... Keira has grown! Not so much in build, size.. but ... mentally! What I am trying to say is...just 2-3 weeks ago, I was very very (extremely) upset that Keira was ignoring me as HER MOTHER! So upset that there was this particular week, Keira simply ignored me everytime I arrived at Bro's house to pick her up! She would walked away when I went into the house... and avoid contact with me. All she wanted then was my mum (her grandma), my niece, my eld bro... and even my sis-in-law...everyone except ME! What the %$#%.... what did I not do right? or what have I done wrong?? I kept pondering for nites... and my ultimatum was when she refused to go home with me..and cried all the way home, while cleaning her up... right up till she fell asleep from fatigue! That nite.. I remembered it was a friday nite... I couldn't withstand this emotionally... and I cried to hb. Blar..blar..blar...meh..meh...meh... I went...telling my hb how hurt i was... blar blar blar....
After some consolation, and still couldn't figure out what went wrong, I decided to perform my role better (with some advice from hb). That weekends...and following weekdays... I spent every moments I can have with her... played with her... looked into her eyes... hugged her.... gave her all my attention (even though I was exhausted!!!)... and every nite when I brought her home... I played with her for an hour...... show her new things... hugged her....until she fell asleep. At this juncture.. you (my reader of blog) must be thinking... have I not been doing all these at all.. all these while??? The answer is... YES I HAVE ever since she was born! So... what difference have I made these past weeks???? My conclusion was (is) ... my actions are MORE INTENSE than b4. Instead of purely entertaining her... like before, I engaged her with all intensity! ...I tell u.. it made a whole world of difference after these 2-3 weeks of efforts! Keira has been showing me alotsa love lately... she hugs my legs, my body, my arms....... and she doesn't cry knowing she needs to go home with me, instead she holds my finger, and wave everyone "goodbye"... and walks off "finger-in finger" with me to the lift! Tonight... though I picked her up pretty late (845pm which by usual practice, she would have been asleep), and she was having fun with my bro and niece.... she actually left the place with me without any protest and waved everyone "goodbye" .... and stayed so obedient throught out the journey back home, and tugged herself so tightly to me when I carried her. Seems to show me that she knows what she is doing, that she is happy with ME as her mum NOW... and feeling the love from me... and thus reciprocating the love back to me...
Hmm...Such a nice feeling. Guess there is no answer to her behaviour why she reacted that way 3 weeks ago?????

Bubble Chair, "Goon-du" Hair and Self-Made Train for Keira
Couple of interesting updates for the past weekends.
(1) Bubble chair
K papa's aunt gave a bubble chair as a gift to us when Keira was born... hmmm.. that's like 1 yr 1 mth ago! Anyway... during this time, the chair wasn't suitable for Keira and therefore we kept it and was expecting to open it only when she is about 2 yr.. (btw, according to the packaging, it's written from 3 yrs onwards). Anyway... I nagged K papa to get the bubble chair pumped up for Keira...
Keira checking to see how well it fitted her ....

Watching Baby Einstein ....
(2) "Goon-du" Hair Cut by Grandma
Well, I understand it's not easy to maintain 100%, perfection in every service.... and I mean hair cut in this case. Even when we adults visit our fav hair stylists, things can happen... hmm... in a negative experience. So, this time round, my mum trimmed Keira's fringe and I wonder if she had missed q .... Keira's hair looked really... hmmm... goon-du!

One more...

(3) Self-Made Train by K-papa
Gosh, K papa really has his way of... saving $$$!!! For the past few months, I have been nagging K papa to buy a tricycle for Keira - type that we can push her while strolling or it can be transformed as a tricycle when she is ready to cycle on it. Well, perhaps he does not think it's worth the $... so... here's what he did for Keira on Sunday! A tu-tu train for Keira... using a plastic container + string + sofa cushion, and pulling her around the house. Geez... she enjoyed it! and couldn't let us stop to rest!

Keira walks like us
Think I better update this... so one day, I can read back to this blog and know when she started walking like an adult/toddler.
Keira started walking from 9-10 months. By now, she is walking like a toddler/kid without any support. She can walk/cruise around the house like no ones business and she is very stable with her walk. There is no need for us to really "watch her" and "catch her" while she is walking anymore... cheers... ;-)!
I supposed this is quite a great milestone for Keira to be able to get to this stage at/before 1-year. Cool.. that's what my mum told me. Cheers....

Keira's 1st Mid-Autumn Festival
It's Mid-Autumn festival!
Hmm... I think it's been more than 15 years since I last (really) celebrated this festival. This year, we have Keira so there is A reason to do something to show her, and let her have some fun.
2 weeks ago, I chanced upon a TV commercial promoting this festive celebration. Coincidentally, my eld bro had some subsidized tickets to Chinese Garden for Mid-Autumn Festival. So we booked the tickets and went to Chinese Garden with eld bro, SIL and Karin....
It was SUPER crowded!!! I never expected such a turnout! We could hardly walk, not to mention "enjoy" the lightings and settings.... Nonetheless, I bought an electronic wand for Keira and bro bought both Karin and Keira a "devil-headband".
Here's our little "devil" for you....haha...

Keira is One Year Old!
It's been 2 weeks since I last updated our blog. Well, it's never too late... here's the updates for you, my friends!
Keira turned 1 year old on 13 Sept, but we celebrated her birthday couple of days earlier to coincide with a weekend - 8 Sept. We invited immediate family members and close friends to join us in our previous' moment. Unfortunately... should I say unfortunate??? Well, it seems that I've always got something interesting to tell you all....So what was it this time?
Hmm, Keira woke up on 8 Sept morning with a fever!!! DUH! why??? Of all days, today when we were supposed to celebrate Keira's 1st birthday? Gosh... unfortunate? I think so... coz I dun think she enjoyed the day as we hoped for her to. Anyway... I have some pictures taken to show all my friends....
First of all, our attempts to set up the function room for the celebration. Frankly, I have under-estimated the energy needed to set it up! I thought it was easy..no brainer, simple and fast, no frills... Blarrrr... I was wrong! Pumping those balloons, tieing them and fixing up to create a "theme" is such a hassle....I actually felt sorry to have that feeling! gosh! So... here are some pics to show you...parts of the function room set up. Great efforts from Hb, my eld bro, my dad, Karin, SIL and I....

The next key item was the Cake! We booked the cake some 2-3 weeks in advanced. It was also a tough decision - maybe just me... I wanted Elmo-2D/3D cake in 2 kg but just couldn't find a nice one. Finally, hb settled for a No. 1-shaped cake with Sesame Street characters. Hmm.. it turned out pretty nice, and the kids at the party were thrilled with the cake! haha... so was I! The cake tasted great too! Till today, I was still mesmerized by it! Think I should order from this bakery on my next xx birthday ;p

Here's Karin, Keira and Valerie... the other kids looked on with same level of excitment, haha.

Finally, Keira and I :-). Poor gal, she had the fever thoughout the party. Party ended at 3pm, by the time we got home, it was almost 5pm.
And... we thought, and we were told... Keira had fever due to teething.... coz she had no cough, no running nose etc etc....Well, by the time we got home, her fever rose to 38.8 degrees, we brought her to KK hospital, it's just too high. By the time we reached KK, her temperature registered at 39.6! That warranted for emergency case, and we stayed for 1 hr with Dr's instruction to monitor her. Thank goodness, her fever dropped and we went home....
For the rest of the days, Keira was recuperating....

Recipe: Udon Soup
I got inspired to cook Udon Soup for Keira after our Cruise trip. On the last day, we had Japanese for lunch and my bro ordered Udon for Karin (my niece). Then, I thought.. hmm.. let Keira try a bit of the udon. She loves it!
So, my adventure began on Saturday.....
Here’s the recipe for Udon Soup
(Makes 1 – 2 servings, depending on infant’s age)
Ingredients:
· 4-5 udon, boiled and diced
· ½ small carrot, peeled and diced
· 4 - 5 Spinach leaves, washed and chopped
· 200ml water
Method:
1. Wash Udon and boil
2. Place carrot and spinach in a small pot or slow cooker to boil and simmer until carrot is soft
3. Place Udon in and cook for another 10 minutes until boil
5. Serve on bowl
